Ransom and McGee Named AIFA Players of the Week

SAN JOSE, Calif---The American Indoor Football Association announced the players for the week of April 3rd and two San Jose Wolves received honors.

Defensive Lineman Larnell Ransom is the defensive player of the week while Kick Returner Jerome McGee is the league’s special teams player of the week in which the duo helped the Wolves beat the Ogden Knights 58-32.

Ransom had a complete night terrorizing the Knights. Larnell led San Jose with eight total tackles, of which 2.5 were sacks and three more were tackles for a loss. Ransom even forced a fumble, which was returned for a touchdown by teammate Marvin Brown.

Jerome McGee set the stage for the offensive unit, returning Ogden’s five kickoffs for over 100 yards. McGee finished the night with 117 return yards, a long of 32, setting up a short field for an offense that scored seven times in the game.

Ransom and McGee have the unique distinction of becoming the first two players in the franchise’s history to be designated as players of the week.
